Spring is here in Chicago! It's that time of year you can smell the grass being cut and the flowers blooming. Over the past few weeks I captured a few images I feel represent that parts of spring that remind me that winter's over. Photos were taken during April at Comiskey Park (home of the Sox), Downtown Chicago West Loop, and Austin gardens in Oak Park.

Friday March 12th at the Exalibur located in Downtown Chicago I bared witness to a party and fashion show presented by YK Management. The Excalibur has a long history in Chicago dating back to the late 19th century. It's past uses and current lore make it both a haunted destination and club capital of Chicago today. Like a gargoyle on top of a castle I watched the events of the eventing.

Happy New Year! Well, it's a new year and a new decade. Even though the photo collections in this update are not new, I thought I would look back on some events and trips from the last 4 months of 2009. There's the giant block party in September when Oprah stopped traffic on Chicago's Michigan Ave for 3 days. There's that day in October when Chicago lost it's chance to host the 2016 Olympics. I was there in Daley plaza to be in the epicenter of it all. Lastely, there's nothing more beautiful than Chinatown in the fall. These photos are from October.

If you have ever lived in Chicago chances are you visited the beloved amusement park Kiddieland located in Melrose Park just outside of the city. Since 1929 kids young and old made memories there. On September 27th 2009 they shut down each ride one by one for the last time. The day before on September 26th I went back to the park for one last look around and to ride my favorite rides one more time.

Lollapalooza 2009 was this past weekend, August 7-9. It was an amazing 3 days in Chicago's beautiful Grant Park overlooking the Chicago skyline. I brought back with me a few pictures for your enjoyment. This was my 5th year attending and 4th year Volunteering. I can't wait to do it again in 2010!
